Cultivation
This species is not hardy in the colder areas of the country, it tolerates temperatures down to between -5 and -10°c[6]. A very ornamental tree[10][1]. Any pruning that needs to be done is best carried out in the spring[12]. This species strongly resents being transplanted[11], it should be planted out into its permanent position as young as possible and given some protection from winter cold for its first few winters outdoors.
