Cultivation

We have very little information on this species and do not know if it will be hardy in Britain, though judging by its native range it could succeed outdoors at least in the milder parts of this country. It is a polymorphic species[4] and is closely related to the wild cabbage, B. oleracea[5]. It has, in the past, been cultivated as a food plant[5]. The following notes are based on the general needs of the genus. Succeeds in full sun in a well-drained fertile preferably alkaline soil[6].
