Probably not quite hardy outside the mildest areas of Britain, it is best if given a good mulch in the winter[6][3]. Hybridizes very freely with other members of this genus - some botanists say there is only one very variable species of Agapanthus[3]. Plants seem to be immune to the predations of rabbits[8].
