The root tuber is depurative and febrifuge[1]. It stimulates blood circulation and relaxes the muscles[1]. The root is used in the treatment of diphtheria, boils and ulcers, traumatic bleeding, snakebites, rheumatoid aches and pains in the backs and legs[1]. It is used internally in decoction, or the crushed root can be used externally as a poultice.
