The entire plant is antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and hepatic[9]. It is used traditionally as a sedative[7] and also in the treatment of carbuncles, acute appendicitis, intestinal abscess, postpartum pain, dysmenorrhoea and endometriosis[9]. It stimulates the circulation, treats abscesses, promotes regeneration of liver cells[4][5][9][6]. Large doses can cause a decrease of white blood cells, nausea and dizziness[9].
The crushed leaves are applied to abscesses and boils[4][7].Ecology

Propagation
