Seed - best sown as soon as it is ripe in a cold frame

We have very little information on this species and do not know if it will be hardy in Britain, though judging by its native range it could succeed outdoors in many parts of this country. The following notes are based on the general needs of the genus.
Requires a dry well-drained soil in a sunny position[7].
Plants are intolerant of root disturbance and are best planted in their final positions whilst still small[5].
This species has a symbiotic relationship with certain soil bacteria, these bacteria form nodules on the roots and fix atmospheric nitrogen. Some of this nitrogen is utilized by the growing plant but some can also be used by other plants growing nearby
[5]. Many members of this genus can be difficult to grow, this may be due partly to a lack of their specific bacterial associations in the soil
